Experience/Education
Dr. Maggie George is founder of Indigenous Research Associates. She is a member of the Diné Nation and has nearly 3 decades of experience developing, managing, and researching programs in American Indian higher education. She has served as Dean and Chief Academic Officer at two tribal colleges, Haskell Indian Nations University and Diné College; taught in higher education and K–12 settings; and worked with policymakers at tribal, state, national, and international levels. She has also served as a consultant-evaluator with the Higher Learning Commission since 2002, with specializations in strategic planning, assessment, teacher education, student access to college, and retention.

Dr. George holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from New Mexico Highlands University, a master’s degree in guidance and counseling, and a PhD in higher education policy and leadership from the University of Kansas.
