SEDL Management Council

SEDL's management council currently comprises 10 members.

Wesley A. Hoover
President and CEO

Wesley A. Hoover has served as SEDL's President and CEO since 1996. In this role, Dr. Hoover is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall management and operation of SEDL. Prior to being named president, Dr. Hoover was a senior vice-president of the lab, leading the Eisenhower Southwest Consortium for the Improvement of Mathematics and Science Teaching (SCIMAST) and the Office of Institutional Assessment and Evaluation (OIAE). He joined SEDL in 1980 as a programmer/analyst in the Division of Bilingual and International Education, working on research in bilingual reading acquisition.

Arnold Kriegel
Vice President and CFO

Arnold Kriegel is SEDL's Vice President and CFO. He is responsible for the oversight of SEDL's fiscal and technical accounting. Mr. Kriegel came to SEDL in 1973 from Unitech Corporation, where he was corporate controller. He has also served as a senior accountant and auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency in Dallas.

Martha Boethel
Director of Development

Martha Boethel is SEDL's Director of Development. She oversees SEDL's proposal planning and development activities, and she provides writing and editing support for SEDL.

Vicki Dimock
Program Officer

Vicki Dimock is SEDL's Program Officer and oversees SEDL's Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC) and Texas Comprehensive Center (TXCC). She coordinates and directs SEDL's efforts to build the capacity of state-level educators in Texas and the Southeast to implement the programs and goals of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

Melissa Dodson
Evaluation Manager

Melissa Dodson is Evaluation Manager with SEDL's Research and Evaluation (R&E) unit. She provides overall leadership for SEDL's evaluation research efforts. Dr. Dodson has more than 10 years of experience designing and implementing large- and small-scale evaluation studies primarily in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, teacher education, and program replication.

Robin Jarvis
Program Director

Robin Jarvis is Program Director of SEDL's Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC). Prior to coming to SEDL, Dr. Jarvis served as the acting superintendent of the Recovery School District in New Orleans.

Catherine Jordan
Program Manager

Catherine Jordan is a Program Manager with the National Center for Quality Afterschool at SEDL. She currently leads the National Center for Family and Community Connections with Schools, which links people with research-based information and resources they can use to effectively connect schools, families, and communities.

Jim Kunetka
Senior Development Advisor

Jim Kunetka is a Senior Development Advisor with SEDL's Executive office, where he is responsible for philanthropic marketing and leading the institution's foundation and corporate fundraising program.

Christine A. Moses-Egan
Director of Institutional Communications

Christine Moses-Egan is SEDL's Director of Communications. Within the Communications department, she leads a team of seven staff members in external and internal communications efforts that include public relations, marketing resources and services, production of publications, and Web development and design.

Michael Vaden-Kiernan
Director of Research and Evaluation

Michael Vaden-Kiernan is SEDL's Director of Research and Evaluation. Dr. Vaden-Kiernan has spent the majority of his professional career conducting research and evaluation studies with the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Health and Human Services agencies. He was employed as a senior research analyst with Abt Associates for over 5 years and the CDM Group for more than 2 years in the areas of education, child development, and family studies.

John Westbrook
Program Manager

John Westbrook is a Program Manager of SEDL's National Center for the Dissemination of Disability Research (NCDDR), SEDL's Vocational Rehabilitation Service Models for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders project, and SEDL's Disability Law Resource Project (DLRP). His current work include strategies for the effective dissemination and utilization of disability-related information.
