By pairing kids with elder gardeners/people of differing cultures, this program helps bridge cultural gaps through shoulder-to-shoulder gardening adventure.  It includes a curriculum and supplemental resources, but you must supply community members.

Designed for use with kids in middle school and above, Garden Mosaics is well designed for afterschool programs located near gardens in the surrounding community. The materials guide instructors through activities designed to introduce them to, and interview local gardeners and inventory gardens in their community. Through these activities, students will develop an understanding of the science behind gardening, connect to the gardens and gardeners in their communities, and design their own projects to support and improve their neighborhood.
