These kits feature contemporary women scientists as positive role models.   Kits also contain short videos profiling the scientist and her work, hands on activities, printed material, and motivation for girls to pursue science.

Wonderwise provides a great motivational boost for kids (especially girls) who might harbor doubts that they could, someday, become scientists. Of course we know that elementary school kids have unlimited potential to realize their dreams, but for some kids, the chance to see successful role models, especially if they don't see many on a regular basis, could be just what they need to set goals to pursue science and achieve their potential. Wonderwise materials feature a diverse group of scientists engaged in field and lab work as well as follow up activities for use with elementary school kids related to the work of these role models shown on the Wonderwise CD-ROM or downloadable from the internet. Each unit highlights a specific scientist and her field of science and the necessary materials are available locally or for purchase on the program website. Note that access to a computer is necessary for these materials.
