This guide is for leaders/instructors contemplating adding an informal science program.  It’s full of fascinating activities, sound science, relevant health concepts, and practical advice--whether you seek new activities or are just starting.

An easy to read and content rich book filled with information to assist in every step of the process of establishing and initiating a productive, fun, and educational informal science program (a summer camp, an afterschool program, or some other source of non-school science activities for kids). The guide is really easy to read, well prepared and formatted, and, in addition to the nuts and bolts, it includes sample materials/activities that could be easily implemented with kids of a wide variety of ages. The samples offer opportunities for students to explore numerous life science topics through activities that are fun, interesting, and relevant to participants' lives.
