Annotation:
This article reports key findings about the programs and progress of schools participating in the National Network of Partnership Schools and relates the findings to qualities of successful partnership program development. The findings underscore the importance of supportive action teams, appropriate funding, enough time, guidance, and leadership for successful partnership program development. A survey of 202 National Network of Partnership schools was administered and 63% were completed. Schools that returned the survey were found similar in terms of district/state support and student poverty. Factors that influence implementation success were determined using multiple regression analysis. The authorÕs conclusions and descriptions of the National Network can serve to guide partnership programs that bring together communities for studentsÕ academic, social, and personal growth and development.
