Introduction to Courage to Lead

How do leaders create the conditions in which a climate of trust and support facilitate teacher growth and student learning? Building one’s skills and knowledge of instructional leadership is critical but not sufficient. The first step to creating a climate that promotes open, trusting relationships and collaboration among all staff members is to experience that climate of trust firsthand. The Courage to Lead model was developed by Parker Palmer, author of The Courage to Teach, and provides participants with the ability to sustain and renew their passion and commitment to school leadership.

Who Should Attend:
Principals, assistant principals, and district and state department staff

Objectives:
You will
