About Comprehensive School Reform
Comprehensive school reform (CSR) encourages schools to address all aspects of school function and environment when making improvements, rather than implementing isolated programs that may or may not improve the academic performance of all students. Schools engaged in CSR programs implement comprehensive improvement models that provide validated methods and strategies for teaching, learning, and school management.
Schools may choose from a variety of research-based comprehensive models that provide resources and tools, as well as training and support. Ideally, a CSR reform effort will address each schools unique needs, build on its strengths, and help meet the schools academic goals.
