Working Systemically Cluster Meeting: Texas CC Training of Trainers for ESC Specialists
Region 4 Education Service Center
Houston, TX

Cluster meetings provide opportunities for TXCC staff and ESC staff to reflect on each ESC's progress in helping districts and schools to work systemically, plan the introduction of new elements of systemic work to their districts and schools, and collaborate on how to move the work forward.

Spring 2008 Cluster Meetings

Day 1: 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. (ESC and TXCC staff only)
TXCC staff and ESC staff will reflect on progress made in the ESC systemic work and will collaborate on strategies for introducing an instructional improvement process to districts and school leaders.

Day 2: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (ESC and TXCC staff and district/school leaders)
TXCC staff will facilitate the introduction of an instructional improvement process to district and school leaders attending the meeting.

Day 3: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon (ESC and TXCC staff only)
TXCC staff will deepen ESC staff understanding of tools and processes for implementing an instructional improvement process, and together they will explore plans and expectations for completing Phase III of Working Systemically.

* ESC staff who receive support from TXCC are required to attend one of the scheduled cluster meeting sessions. Please register for the regional session you wish to attend by contacting the appropriate person from that region.

2008 SECC Annual Regional Forum: The Turnaround School’s Journey: Insights, Initiatives, and Implications

SEDL presents the 2008 Southeast Comprehensive Center’s Annual Regional Forum entitled The Turnaround Schools’ Journey: Insights, Initiatives, and Implications which will be held May 21–23, 2008, at the Marriott Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. We will be focusing this year’s forum on the recently released report, The Turnaround Challenge, by Mass Insight Education & Research Institute and will be highlighting the work of several states, including our five Southeast states, in supporting school and district improvement in their states.

2008 TXCC Summer Forum: Riding the Wave to Systemic Improvement

The Texas Comprehensive Center presents its annual forum for 2008. The focus this year will be on working systemically to increase student achievement.

Objectives:


  • Promote coherence in technical assistance provided to low-performing districts and schools
  • Increase understanding of levels, components, and competencies that are essential to systemic improvement
  • Increase understanding of NCLB provisions related to school support teams
  • Identify and prioritize actions for using a systemic approach in implementing schools support teams

Strand 2: Phases I and II
