Regional Comprehensive Centers
SEDL works through two comprehensive centers to support state, regional, and local educators in their efforts to reform high schools and improve learning for all students. Select the links below to see a list of each center's services.
- Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC): serves state and local educators in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina
- Texas Comprehensive Center (TXCC): serves the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the 20 regional education service centers (ESCs) in Texas
Professional Development
SEDL’s Center for Professional Learning offers customized professional development to support high school improvement and the change process.
- Professional Teaching and Learning Cycle (PTLC): Focused on improvement at the classroom level, the PTLC is a model for engaging teachers in a continuous improvement process in which they collaboratively align curriculum, instruction, and formative assessments to state standards.
- Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Academy: Offers three sessions on building effective PLCs: (1) Demystifying PLCs and Creating Shared Visions and Values; (2) Creating Shared Leadership and Application of Learning; and (3) Developing Supportive Conditions and Sharing Professional Practice.
