In today’s increasingly information-rich society, educators and students must be able to use technology effectively and creatively. At SEDL, we know that technology can close the gaps between people, experiences, and opportunities. So we draw on our expertise to help educators and decision makers make the best use of technology to enhance and support teaching and learning. 

Our staff work in a variety of ways to support the use of technology in education. We consult with educators at all levels to help them use technology to improve students’ academic achievement. We provide technical assistance to help schools and districts use technology to manage data, collaborate and exchange ideas, support school improvement, and increase family and community involvement. We use technology, such as the Web and podcasts, to provide professional development that participants can access at their own convenience. In the area of afterschool and expanded learning, we help instructors develop fun activities that use technology to engage students. In addition, our researchers partner with academic content experts to evaluate technology-enhanced education programs.
