This resource by Learning Point Associates examines levels of achievement among racial groups and explores social, school, and family factors related to the cause of the disparity. It also looks at research, public policy, and successful schools to identify how the achievement gap can be overcome. |
Closing the Gaps
Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board developed a plan to close the educational gaps within Texas. The plan includes strategies for reaching each of the goals and an annual performance measuring system.

Connecting with the Learner: An Equity Toolkit
This CD from North Central Eisenhower Mathematics and Science Consortium is designed to help math and science educators and parents become more aware issues that can be roadblocks to quality education for every child . Diversity: School, Family, & Community Connections

The Minority Student Achievement Network: Research
This coalition of multiracial, relatively affluent suburban school districts studies the disparity in achievement between white students and students of color through intensive research. This page describes ongoing projects and includes results of some of their past studies. Of particular note are the Tripod Project on teacher-student relationships and the NSF project focusing on mathematics. |
