  • SAUSP campus coaches will work with campus learning communities to inform and guide professional development.
ACTION STEPS
  • On Monday 12/17/01 this plan will be explained to USP campus coaches.
  • Meet with internal evaluator to design data-gathering questions on professional development needs.

  • Aligning professional development to standards and student achievement.
ACTION STEPS
  • Clarify and revise theoretical construct for alignment to focus on professional development and student achievement.
  • Identify groups to participate in alignment activities.
  • Provide professional development for identified groups on the use of the alignment instrument (coordinate with evaluation effort).
  • Develop goals and timeline for completing alignment activities.
  • Develop feedback strategies to school districts on results of alignment.
  • Support districts in revising and redesigning professional development.

  • Measuring professional development in terms of student achievement.
ACTION STEPS
  • Meet with evaluators to devise a plan for collecting data.
  • Identify successful learning communities and evaluate/review their professional development plans.
  • Identify multiple strategies for gathering information concerning the evaluation of professional development.
  • Provide feedback to alignment committee.
  • Revise strategies based on information provided by the alignment committee.
