Laura Shankland is a Communications Associate with SEDL's Communications department. She works on a variety of publications and corporate communications products.

Ms. Shankland's communications and publishing experience includes work for the educational publisher Holt, Rinehart and Winston and the University of Texas Press, as well as freelance editing and writing. Before coming to Austin, Ms. Shankland taught in a bilingual fifth-grade classroom in Phoenix, Arizona, through Teach for America. Education
Ms. Shankland holds a BA in history and political science from Colorado College and an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. SEDL Publications
