Classroom Compass (Mar. 2002): Promoting Diversity, Valuing Difference

Classroom Compass is a collection of ideas, activities, and resources for teachers interested in improving instruction in science and mathematics. The March 2002 issue discusses opportunities to engage a wider range of students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences. A classroom activity challenges students to solve mathematical problems a number of ways that enable students to relate underlying mathematical relationships.
