Design in the Classroom: Classroom Compass - Volume 2 Number 3

Classroom Compass is a collection of ideas, activities, and resources, for teachers interested in improving instruction in science and mathematics. This issue features Design in the Classroom, a look at technology as the concrete application of science and mathematics. 

Stages of the design process can be introduced in early grades - in fact Design Technology is a national curriculum in the United Kingdom, starting at the earliest grade level. This issue of Classroom Compass presents an elementary level activity, The Three Little Pigs, and a project for older students, Power Boat Design.
