Classroom Compass is a collection of ideas, activities, and resources, for teachers interested in improving instruction in science and mathematics. This issue explores one way teachers might work together to develop curriculum.

The Hydroponics Farm is a middle school activity using collaboration from three disciplines. Accompanying the description are excerpts from the Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics and the National Science Education Standards. Two new resources: Quick Takes, a new publication from SCIMAST, and LEERIC (Louisiana Environmental Education Resources Information Center) are briefly introduced. The Resources and Opportunities section spotlights mathematics and science software and printed materials.
