To help researchers locate, access, and evaluate the data they need, the REL Southwest created data inventories for six of its research alliances. The New Mexico Prekindergarten Data Inventory, developed by the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest, identifies data available at the federal, state, and local levels to support research on prekindergarten (preK) care and education in New Mexico.
This document provides an overview of the New Mexico Prekindergarten Data Inventory, which is in a separate Excel spreadsheet available upon request. The data inventory includes information about data collected by the New Mexico Public Education Department; the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department; the U.S. Department of Education, and other organizations. Included data elements focus on children from birth through elementary school as well as parents, caregivers, teachers, preK programs, and elementary schools. The data inventory is tailored to the needs of the New Mexico Prekindergarten Research Alliance of the RELSouthwest.
