The Science After School (SAS) Consumers Guide was created to provide information about sources of high-quality, hands-on science content for afterschool programs. The guide's developers began by asking consumers to recommend programs and/or materials that they themselves had used or seen in action. Our intention was to find out what people in the field already deemed accessible, engaging, and effective at integrating science into the afterschool environment. After identifying nominations that seemed most promising, we engaged a panel of afterschool and science content experts to review the resources and provide the commentary presented in the guide.
