To help researchers locate, access, and evaluate the data they need, the REL Southwest created data inventories for six of its research alliances. The Texas Hispanic STEM Data Inventory, developed by the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest, identifies data available at the federal, state, and local levels to support research on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Texas, with a particular focus on Hispanic students.

This document provides an overview of the Texas Hispanic STEM Data Inventory, which is in a separate Excel spreadsheet available upon request. The data inventory includes information about data collected by the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the U.S. Department of Education, and other organizations. Data elements included focus on students from kindergarten through postsecondary education and beyond, with a particular interest in Hispanic student outcomes in STEM education and careers as well as statewide supply and demand for Hispanic workers in STEM fields. The data inventory is tailored to the needs of the Texas Hispanic STEM Research Alliance.
