One of a series of videotaped classroom episodes designed for use as professional development for educators, this episode depicts fourth-grade students creating creatures using geometric shapes. The drawings are sent via electronic mail to high school students who graph the designs and develop equations that are then used to create computer programs that redraw the fourth-graders' creatures. A variety of technologies are used to support these activities.

Note: While the concepts demonstrated in the video remain valid, the video was created in 2000 and may use obsolete technologies such as diskettes. In addition, the video may not demonstrate modern technologies that are now commonplace.

Suggestions for using the episodes in this series are included in the Active Learning with Technology facilitator guide. This videotape is a production of SEDL's past project, SouthCentral Regional Technology in Education Consortium, in partnership with the Voyage of Discovery Project and s available as part of SEDL's Active Learning with Technology Video Series on DVD.
