These ten videos were originally designed as part of the Active Learning with Technology (ALT) professional development portfolio to provide educators with examples of effective uses of technology in classroom instruction. They are now available online.
Note: While the concepts demonstrated in the videos remain valid, the videos were created from 1999-2004 and may use obsolete technologies such as diskettes. In addition, the videos may not demonstrate modern technologies that are now commonplace.
The first two episodes in this series provide an overview of the role of technology in supporting student-centered learning. The other eight classroom episodes depict students and educators engaged with technology as part of innovative project-based activities. The technologies and instructional strategies employed are highly adaptable to other content areas and grades.
