During the 1996-2000 Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) contract, TAP into Learning was the on-line newsletter of the Technology Assistance Program. It offers useful and highly practical information for K-12 educators wishing to use technology to support more constructivist learning approaches. This issue examines "Using what Learners Know", a challenge for the teacher to engage students so that they feel their ideas and experiences are honored and so they believe that they have a stake in their own learning. The issue also includes a learning activity for Grade 7 and 8 Math, Social Studies and Language Arts, an article on collaborative decision making in urban planning, and ideas for using spreadsheet software in the classroom.
