SEDL Letter Submission Guidelines

As a K-12 education publication, SEDL Letter has a reputation for professionalism, and accuracy. We strive to publish only the best, most comprehensive accounts of issues involving teaching, learning, and policy as they affect K-12 education. We are looking for essays, stories and research articles that are thoughtfully presented and are targeted towards our audience of educators, parents, community members, and policymakers.

Before submitting a manuscript, take a look at one of SEDL Letter issues. Our issues revolve around theme and thrive on facts, figures, and real life examples. Check to see what topics we have covered in the past. Read the articles for subject matter, style, and length. Check our online issues for sample and query us with story ideas. From time to time, we also make assignments to writers, so let us know of your interest.

Feel free to drop a note to the editor if you have any ideas about the type of information you think would be helpful to you if it were in SEDL Letter or if you have a story of how SEDL Letter was instrumental in helping you in your classroom or field. Your comments and feedback are greatly valued since we look to our readers to help us in providing the best service possible.

Submit your manuscript to leslie.blair@sedl.org as an e-mail attachment using Word, ASCII, text or RTF or you may copy and paste the entire document into the body of your e-mail. We will acknowledge your contribution when we receive it. Our review process usually takes between four to six weeks, and sometimes longer when we receive large volumes of manuscripts.
