While this study has revealed some important district-level practices
that support student achievement, some of the findings point to
a need for further investigation.
In-depth district case studies might be helpful to gain better
understanding of district resource allocations among campuses. Several
focus districts report that they are in the process of implementing
large-scale changes that they hope will positively impact their
performance. It would be very useful to study these districts during
the implementation phase to determine the impact of the changes.
An investigation of links between resources such as instructional
materials and student academic performance at the campus level could
yield important information about resource equity and approaches
that improve student learning.
