Community Engagement
What Is It?
Families and communities play an integral role in a student’s education, from providing support and guidance to offering new experiences and opportunities to learn. SEDL’s National Center for Family and Community Connections with Schools fosters effective family and community connections with schools by developing and distributing research-based resources people can use in building partnerships between schools, families, and communities.
How SEDL Can Help
Just for You
SEDL’s parent involvement specialists are nationally known for conducting high-quality, practical professional development that effectively translates research into practice. We offer assistance to all educators who want to increase parent involvement in education—school and district staff, state education agencies, Head Start and Title I programs, and regional service agencies.
Our professional development services include workshops held on your campus or at our facilities in Austin, Texas. The workshops are followed by ongoing technical assistance and consultations. We can also provide data collection and evaluation services to help you measure the impact of these services. Customized professional development services are available in 1-, 2-, and 3-year formats.
