Integrating Technology and Core Content Areas

What Is It?

In today’s increasingly complex and information-rich society, students must be able to use technology effectively and creatively. Teachers have the responsibility of helping students acquire these skills by integrating technology into the classroom to promote learning, engage students, and help prepare them for future success.

SEDL has created a professional development model that immerses teachers in using the latest technology tools and applications to support instruction and learning. This model shows educators how to use the power of Web 2.0 applications, social networking, multimedia tools, and their own creativity to chart the path of the next phase of the technology revolution.

How SEDL Can Help

Just for You
SEDL’s technology specialists can create a 1-year customized professional development plan just for your district or school. Through hands-on, interactive sessions, participants will learn

  • how to effectively use the technologies that are changing the way students think, act, and participate in their own learning,
  • how to create and use communication tools like blogs, wikis, and podcasts for teaching and learning, and
  • how to harness the power of students’ knowledge about technology in a way that lets them take charge of their own learning.
