Southwest Teachers' Education
and Marine Expedition for Research

Join the adventure of scientific research and education as it happens! STEAMER invites all teachers and students to participate by interacting with the secondary science teachers on board the marine expedition beginning August 18, 2003.

Educational activities include exciting new lessons developed from the ship as it sails in the South Pacific. Digital images and audio and film clips from the ship will enrich the lessons. You and your students may also send questions to teachers by e-mail while they are on board. Then, they will develop the lessons based on your input, designed to meet state science standards, reform teaching practices, and real world experiences for students.
