I guess we are starting a countdown. We have four more days to go and then our science adventure will come to an end. Today was the MOCNESS last sampling. We took the nets off and they are soaking in soapy fresh water so they will be clean and ready to pack. Our clear calm weather has come to an end. The days have been cloudy and we have had scattered showers. The winds have picked up and that is creating a rough ride. I fear that some of our shipmates might get seasick again. If the ocean continues to be rough our diving operation and VPR might be cancelled for tomorrow. Mark is afraid that the VPR might be damage if it collides with the ship as it is being lowered because it is so choppy out there. We are just going to have to wait and see. Tomorrow the first mate is going to sell T-Shirts, caps, and cups. Well, I will definitely want one. Some of the science research members and the crew have different shirts that have different ships. Apparently they are like mission patches. If they are part of research cruise you can buy shirts. Every year the designs change so that there is no two alike. Pretty cool!!! Well the cribbage tournament is over and the cribbage queen is no other than Heather. Heather is a graduate student under Tracy and she is the youngest person on board. (She beat her own professor) Congratulations Heather!!! Nikki did really well, too. She just learned how to play this game and she ended playing against Heather for the title. Some people are so ready to get off the ship. They are anxious to walk on land again. Me, I can still be here a while more. I am even thinking of a career change. Sea life really pleases me. Of course, I wouldn’t think of doing it if Paul and Tyson, our cooks, were not onboard. They cook the most delicious meals! They cook Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and American plus much more. They always give us dessert, too. Paul is always telling us when we are putting our plates in the sink, “Get some more skinny.” Yeah, right! I like him. Today, for relaxation, we went through the many pictures we have taken and pulled some of the best ones so that we can burn them on cd. Many of us have digital cameras and we have decided to share pictures with each other. I bet it’s going to end up being a very nice collection. Well, I am tired and the ships’ rocking is making it worst.
