Stakeholder

Groups

Two stakeholder groups provided input on the development of the plan.

The Educator Equity Stakeholder Organizations Policy Group (Policy Stakeholder Group) met on March 9 in Austin. Members received an orientation to the work, including a preliminary analysis of gaps in access to excellent teachers. Additionally, members provided input and guidance to TEA on potential root causes of educator equity gaps, strategies to address these gaps, and suggestions for the planning process. They also completed a survey on the topic of educator equity prior to this meeting.

The Educator Equity Practitioners Stakeholder Group (Practitioners Stakeholder Group) met on March 26 and 27 in Austin and reviewed the work to date, discussed updated data on educator equity gaps, identified the likely root causes of equity gaps in access to high-quality educators by poor and minority children, and provided input on strategies to address these gaps and inform the first draft of the plan by TEA.
