TEA ESEA Management Institute 2012

The TEA 2012 ESEA Management Institute is intended for new federal programs directors in LEAs, ESCs, and charter schools with programs administered under ESEA. Through participation in the institute, attendees will increase their understanding of ESEA program and compliance requirements, thereby reducing interventions and increasing the effective use of ESEA funds.

2011 NCLB Management Institute

The 2011 NCLB Management Institute was held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in San Marcos, Texas, on June 8-10, 2011. Dr. Richard Long, executive director of Governmental Relations for the National Title I Association, was the featured keynote speaker. He spoke about federal education policy, specifically, what the changes in funding and reauthorization will mean for public education.

2010 NCLB Management Institute

The 2010 NCLB Management Institute was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Austin, Texas on June 2-4, 2010. The institute opened with a presentation by Dr. Zollie Stevenson, from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, who spoke on the Role of K-12 in the 'Cradle to Career' Education Strategy.

TEA staff presentations covered the following topics related to NCLB:

  • Comprehensive Needs Assessment
  • Use of Funds
  • Compliance Requirements
  • Monitoring
